The Fishing has been exceptional all of Fall 2023 and December has been even better! The last few weeks have seen anglers catching 75-150 per day with lots of quality fish in the 4-8lb range and several bigs up to 11+ lbs mixed in.

The fish are biting any and everything that our guests have thrown in call colors and varieties and it’s only a a matter of finding what the big fish want any given day. Everything from topwater, to jigs, to swimbaits, cranks and plastics has drawn the big bite and numbers. Tradtional colors of blacks, watermelons, shads, as well as superbrights such as chartreuese and pink lemonade have been major players week to week.

This is one of those times that you just need to get here and get casting and experience the madness for yourself!

Well, Baccarac is kicking out both numbers and size and the fall has been on fire. The last month has been really good for fish in the 5-10lb range and plenty of em!

The end of october saw Seibert outdoor jigs and underspins for size taking center stage with poppers and hogfarmer scroungers bringing up the rear for numbers. Points and flats in 15 ft was the jam with many some boats seeing as many as 100 fish a day with 50 fish days being common. There’s been a healthy number of 4-7lb fish with plenty of 8+ lb bass and grandes mixed in. And the patterns are callback to 2018/19 season which was the start of a banner year.

The start of November has seen it get even better with the late hurricane rains. Boats in the first week of Nov are reporting 70-150 per day with DD’s to boot and a whole mess of 7 and 8lb fish to keep you busy in the meantime. Morning bullshad bite has been great, with traps and burritos taking the win on big fish. Scourngers, underspins and topwater are filling in the numbers if your goal is to purely load the boat. The best part is that pretty much everything is getting bit, you just have to find what the bigs want week to week.

The ’23/24 season is underway! The Lake isn’t quite up to last years levels, but its sitting at about ’21 opening day levels.

In talking with Poncho yesterday, he’s reporting lots and lots of quality fish with the biggest coming in around 7-8lbs.

He said the fish are biting pretty much anything that his client was throwing and in all depths. Swimbait, lizards, senko, xd6 cranks, topwater, scrounger, and underspins all landed quality fish!

The crankbait bite is on and here to stay. It has been by far the best producer this spring and that’s nothing new for Baccarac.  We’re still seeing tons of fish and there’s still a few weeks left to get your trip in before we close up for the rainy season!
