1 oz black and blue jigs with big Senkos, 6 and 8 inch lizards in red and watermelon red, shakey head worms, 3/4 and 1/2 oz rattletraps in silver/blue and silver/black, magnum flukes in pearl and watermelon; TOPWATER – Zara Spooks and Chug Bugs

The results have been varied as we close out 2017. Some boats are catching up to 200 bass a day, but no big ones. On the other hand, a few boats are landing trophies over 10 lbs, with much lower numbers around 35 fish a day. Fishing up the river seems to be most productive since mid-December. The lake is about to hit full pre-spawn mode.

TOPWATER ACTION has finally shown up with the cooler temps!!! Our good friend Big Al from Philly is just wrecking them with Chug Bugs early and late. Most boats are catching over 80 fish a day. Fishing deeper with 1 oz jigs tipped with 7 inch black/blue Senkos has produced fish up to 12.9 pounds.
I expect a continuation of great numbers with the cooler temps.

1/2 oz scroungers, 5 inch pearl swimbaits, 6 inch mullet colored swimbaits, 3/4 oz black and blue BiCO Jigs, watermelon and red lizards

This fall, we are seeing fantastic results with 100 fish a day and 10 pounders daily. The bait selection will change daily with the recently arrived cold weather. With the exception of just a couple days, the results have been steady since mid October. Come down and see for yourself!

It’s been a long time since last report, and this is also our first report of the 2017/2018 fishing season. The lake is lower than it was this time last year, and it took a little while to turn on compared to last year…but is turned on NOW!

Double digit bass are being caught by Ed Newell and his group. The jig bite is producing the true monsters, while swimbaits are good for producing the healthy 5 to 8 pounders.

I am shooting you straight! Get down here ASAP – don’t miss this action as it will only get better.

Bigger is better! 10 inch shakey head worms, 6 inch swimbaits, 1 and 1 1/2 oz jigs tipped with 7 inch senkos, 1 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, 8 inch lizards, and a must have: DX-10 crankbaits from strike king

Since our last report, we have had many customer with some slow days but some super 100 fish days. One thing that is 100% certain: this is trophy time at Lake Baccarac Lodge! Great friends of the Lodge are catching their personal best! Doug Fisk landed a beautiful 12.5 pounder, and Jeff Massey’s boys both caught fish near 11 pounds. The list just goes on and on from there.

Papachaw is holding the giants, and the river has great numbers of 3 to 6 pound bass.

Our private flights remaining a popular choice but many people arrive commercial, as well.
