Wrapping up another great week here at Lake Baccarac Lodge. The week started out hot with great crankbait action and many fish in the 6-9lb range. Topwater is turning up and the crankbait bite is slowing down. Bites are trending shallow with the hot baits being poppers, underspin/swimbait combo, senkos and flukes.

Great few days for topwater and Texas rigged plastics. Poppers to the banks and plastics on the drops are putting up to 150 bass per day up to 9lbs in the boat heading toward the river

The last few days have been crazy! Every boat is reporting north of 100 fish per day with the highest count coming in with 165. Many many quality fish in the 4 to 8lb range with a few 10lb fish and an 11-14 kicker!

Best bite has been topwater with poppers doing the damage. Don’t sleep on the fluke bite either! Our guides are finding the fish!

March showers bring March DD’s!

A pair of 10’s from the last few days from Eric who is having a fantastic trip. Eric’s boat has put up 100 or more bass every day with 166 being their best day! Flukes and poppers for the win! In fact, every boat at the lodge right now is putting up triple digit numbers daily with big fish in the boat to boot

It’s another full house here at Lake Baccarac Lodge! The topwater bite has been phenomenal this week with poppers dominating the scene! The early part of the week saw anglers sticking with topwater all day long. After the Wednesday front, it has been topwater early and late, with flukes and swimbaits doing damage during the midday heat. Ricks group has been stacking the numbers and the big ones with 5 over 10lbs so far including this 10-7 and reporting 150 fish days. Martha’s group has found a daytime swimbait bite and is putting up great numbers as well, with fish to 9lbs!
