What a week with the swimbait universe crew. While not a lot of numbers with totals sitting around 20 per boat per day, this crew stayed true to their roots and threw swimbaits all day in pursuit of giants and big bags. This trip saw every angler hitting fish over 8lbs and 16 double digits with a pair of 11lbs rounding out the big fish.
Some fish have started to move up and were eating poppers, bullshads, glides, and wakes early with many being 7-10lbs. The daytime bite shifted to burritos, spinnerbait, and underspins on steep drops. Hitting lots of spots for solitary giants was the norm this past week

chatterbait, spinnerbait, burrito swimbait, keitech, underspin, popper, mag fluke
Hottest Colors:shad, white, watermelon, pink lemonade
Time Of Day:all day
This week saw better numbers as well as some topwater come on up to heavy 8’s. Big numbers of fish have moved up to the shallows pushing shad and tilapia out of the flooded brush. Poppers, underspin, mag fluke up tight have accounted for some good fish and decent numbers, but the bigger fish are still deep and isolated.
Deeper points and islands with burrito swimbaits, spinnerbaits, and underspins have produced the double digits this week. You need to make every bite count as there are usually only one or two bigger fish per spot and then on to the next.
We’re still waiting on the cooler nights to turn on a big topwater bite.

We’re now 11 days into the season and it’s been epic so far!
The lake level is fantastic at 72% which is the second highest level since 2018 and that year was filled with big fish. This season has been giving the 2018 season start a run for its money in regards to big fish.
We are catching double digit bass every day and often multiples. We’ve already seen 50+ lb bags from multiple clients with big bag topping over 55lbs for the best 5 for one client.
The numbers have been one the slower side, but right now is a trophy hunter’s dream.
Best baits so far have been swimbaits on a flashy swimmer, Chatterbait, senko, spinnerbait, small glide, and scrounger fishing islands and points in 10-15ft.
If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate!

We hopped on the lake to check things out and see how the water levels were progressing.
The lake is around 35% now and rising more than 1% per day with 45 days before we get underway for the season.
The bite started of pretty slow with a few missed fish up tight and fish busting all around.
Moving to a long point fishing in 15ft flipped a switch as we caugh fish here all day with 20+ fish over 7lbs including a pair of DD fish and the best 5 going 45+. Best baits for bigs were the 3/4oz jig/senko combo and 4.75 swimbait.
