We have been having some rain recently with more on the way. The weather has been very cool and the water temp is down to around 68 degrees. The fishing has been excellent. The numbers of fish you can catch around the area near the lodge is awesome. Using 8″ grubs and the Yumdingers we have serveral in the 7 to 8 pound range. The area near the ranch is holding tons of fish but really there is no need to travel that far. The group that departed yesterday recorded 10 fish over 9 pounds with the biggest one being 12.5 pounds. The big fish hit everything from topwater to swimbaits.

We fished 12/31,1/1,1/2. Fishing was great. Caught 2 10’s and 3 9’s on big topwater baits. Caught one 11 on a senko up the river. During the day we used 5″ stick baits and caught bass 2-5 pounds. Everyone at the camp was great. The guides did a really good job finding fish and showing us how to catch them. Hope to make it back in May.

Ok, the fishing is getting slower because of the cold weather and rain. Yesterday we did add one more trophy ( over 10 pounds ) to the wall. Overall the numbers are down and fish are harder to find. Most boats can still catch 50 fish in a day if they work very hard The 8 and 9 pounders are still showing around Russes inland mostly on whitespinners. We are excepting rain this afternoon with highs in the 60’s so the fluke and senko bite should be good. The three brother guide team of Eddie, Miguel and Jorge have been fishing the best of numbers and size of fish

The last three days has offered some good catching. With the lodge full the last 3 days we had 8 more fish added to the 10 pound plus club and many anglers reporting several near the 10 pound mark. The best patterns still being senkos and flukes . Spinnerbaits working very well but make sure you use the 3/4 oz all white spinners. The best water to fish right now is near the Ranch. Most boats catching 50 to 90 fish a day
