Husband and wife team Mac and Michelle McMillan reported excellent fishing at Baccarac. Large numbers of 4 to 5 lb. fish with both catching their personal best the first afternoon. Topwater using silver Zara Spooks makes an exciting way to fish.
Dale Conover and his brother Michael were back after a three or four year absence, were smiling ear to ear after catching 100+ fish a day, with 8, 9 and 10’s being reported using watermelon flukes, scroungers tipped with flukes.
David Arizpe and his partner from Monterrey, Mexico absolutely destroyed the lake – fishing anything from flukes, senkos and top water with pictures posted on our Facebook page and reported, there can’t be a better lake than this anywhere in the world!

It’s been a strange week here at Baccarac; the Archibald group started out with a bang and multiple big fish, but the rain has moved in and actually drove us off of the lake one day. The low-pressure system has really hampered results the remainder of the week – along the entire coast, from Mazatlan to Obregon, we have been experiencing rain and high winds. Fishing has slowed to about 40 fish a day. The super grandes have disappeared, but catching a six or seven pounder has been no problem the last couple of days.
