About Lake Baccarac and the lodge…

To start off, 19.1 lbs is the official lake record; however, fish in excess of 24 lbs have been reportedly caught by local fishermen. The season of 2003-2004, every time we turned around, clients have caught 14 lb. fish, 15 lb. fish, fish over 10 lbs. with good numbers of 5 to 7 lb. fish. This is a hot Mexican lake. Obviously, Baccarac is back!

This beautiful lake is nestled among the forested mountain peaks. They have recently paved a major portion of the road, making access from Los Mochis much easier. The drive is currently only 2.5 hours. You may also access the lake by private plane, as the town has a 5,200 foot paved runway.

We are now in our third season at our lakeside lodge. The  lodge is called Lake Baccarac Lodge.  This facility will rival Lake Huites Lodge in both style and comfort.  We have 18 foot Crestliners with 60 hp motors, with front and rear trolling motors and depth finders.

Lake Baccarac Lodge Package Price: 2007-2008

• $1595.00 4night/3day, includes ground transportation

• $ 2000.00 to $2500.00 from many places in Texas, includes air transportion and 4 night/3 day of fishing - fly directly to the lake 

 All rates are based on double occupancy. There is an extra charge for a single angler and we will take single anglers based upon our capacity.

$1095.00 4night/3day, 3 people to an economy room and fishing 3 to a boat

VIP Package

Rods, reels and tackle furnished, along with fishing out of a full-sized American bass boat.  Call for details.

Deposit Amount

$600 per person to secure your reservation. Bookings are not confirmed until deposits are received. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your departure.  Forms of payment are:  check, cash, MasterCard and Visa.

Lake Baccarac Fishing Season

September through June. Although the lake offers excellent fishing on a year-round basis, we’ve discovered that the months outside the prime fishing window of September through June are often extremely hot or rainy.

Lake Baccarac Lodge Travel Itinerary

The majority of the anglers travel to our lodge via private charter to Bacoburito, which is twenty minutes from the lodge.  We have several private charter options.  The private charter trips are a package price – the fishing trip and the charter air, but the charter air portion is NONREFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE. 

From Phoenix, Arizona – a group of 8 anglers or 16 anglers.  Pricing is dependent on group size and days fishing.   

From El Paso or Midland, Texas – a group of 6 anglers.  Pricing is dependent on group size, departure city and days fishing.  Please call for schedule.  We can accommodate a 4 night/3 day trip. 4 night/3 ½ day trip, and a 5 night/4 day trip.

Commercial flights: Clients may also fly commercially into Los Mochis, Mexico via many different cities and utilizing different airlines.  It is a three-hour trip from Los Mochis to the lodge, one way.  The most common connecting cities are Tucson, Phoenix, Monterrey, and Culiacan and the airlines are AeroMexico and AeroCalifornia.   The commercial schedule varies, so please call us for available flights and we will help you obtain your commercial flights through an affiliated travel agent if you need that service. 

Our policies: 

• All fishing trips are transferable to another date/another angler, but they are nonrefundable, no exceptions. 
• We offer trip insurance and suggest you purchase it through the company we are affiliated with or a trip insurance provider of your choice.  This will cover flight delays, lost luggage, medical emergencies, etc. 
• There is an additional pickup fee for lost luggage or clients who arrive to the lodge later than scheduled, due to missing a commercial flight OR a charter flight.
• We will pick up clients who have missed their flights at a later time/the next day IF our transportation schedule permits. 
• If you are traveling to the lodge on a charter flight, the charter flight portion of your trip is NONREFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE to another date, no exceptions.
•  Reel Mexican Adventures is not responsible for any part of the trip that might be missed because of cancellations or delays of commercial or private airlines.   
• If you have to cancel your entire trip, you need to do so as soon as you are aware that you need to cancel it, and you will be given a credit for any portion not used and you will have until the end of the next season to complete it.  After that, the trip is forfeited.   

Private Charters can be arranged from many places in the USA and will fly directly into Bacburito, which is 20 minutes from the lake.

Weather at Lake Baccarac

The evening and morning hours are cool because of the cool, crisp mountain air of the Sierra Madre Mountains. As the day progresses, it typically heats up to between 84 and 90 degrees. Occasional showers do occur, so a rain-suit is a must.

 Lake Baccarac Lodge Accommodations

Two anglers will share a room complete with air conditioner, private bathroom and filtered water. The rooms overlook the lake. Maid service is provided daily. Our economy rooms sleep three anglers to a room.

Meals at Lake Baccarac Lodge

The cooking staff will provide a delightful array of dishes for visiting anglers, including steaks and a variety of seafoods and an elaborate Mexican dinner. Freshly made chips and salsa, along with frosty cold margaritas, are always on hand to hold you over until dinner is served.

Activities for the Non-Angler at Lake Baccarac Lodge

Lake Baccarac Lodge is first and foremost a fishing lodge.  Activities other than fishing are very limited.  Non-fishing customers will be taken based upon our capacity.
