FEBRUARY 1 -
Baccarac is heating up! Excellent numbers up the river and Jerry Kelley did land a 10.5 lb. bass on a swimbait. Terry forecasts the big ones are almost here!!
JANUARY 27 - UPDATE FROM THE LODGE:
Huge rains and a cold front that came through on Friday and Saturday, the 22nd and 23, have caused a dramatic change in the fishing. This week has not produced much in the way of fishing results with very few fish caught in shallow or deep water. The water temperature has cooled six degrees in five days. It remains to be seen if the fishing will improve next week. We will keep you updated.
JANUARY 24TH:
Tough fishing Friday and Saturday with very high winds and big rains forcing us off of the lake. However, before the storm, fishing was excellent upriver with fish up the river caught up to 6 lbs. and at the south end of the lake producing fish up to 9 lbs. in deeper water. The bigger fish are moving up slowly and still are a little out of reach.

THis week has not produced very many big fish but the numbers of small fish in the first 20ft of water is outstanding.... small being 1 to 3 pounds...Eddie Carmon did catch a 11.9 in 25 ft of water and was broke off within minutes after catching that one ......We are marking lots of bigger fish in 45 ft of water. It also seems that most of the shad and talpia are also in 40 to 45ft of Water

High-quality fishing - countless numbers of 1 to 3 lb. bass and Russ reports a fair number of fish over 8 and seven fish over 10 lbs. The big fish are coming deeper with Carolina rigged watermelon lizards and wacky style 5 inch watermelon senkos. Watermelon jigs along with black and blue 1 oz. jigs produced a good number of quality fish. It seems as though the big fish are moving shallow and we will start seeing more and more trophy bass caught in the next several weeks.

Leo Osburns group report excellent numbers and also reported a 10.8 amd 9.8 caught on Carolina rigged watermelon Lizzards. Six boats on the water all doing very well with 150 fish being caught per boat
Jan 5th and Jan 6th
Scott Sinclair's group of four had a blow-out day yesterday, January 6.
Although the biggest fish was only an 8.13 (very respectable fish) Scott reported up to 150 fish for his boat with so many 5 and 6 lb. fish, they stopped counting. Little Miguel, who is now guiding for us, has turned out to be an exceptional guide and had the best numbers of the day.
Mike Drain's group of eight flew in yesterday direct from Dallas, departed at 8:30 a.m. and were at the lodge at 11:30 a.m. Our private flights direct from Dallas offer the best convenience clients have ever had - short time to get there and luxury all the way. Mike's group fished 1/2 day yesterday and caught phenomenal numbers.
Narlin's comment, he feels that the big fish are just about ready to bite.
